The Wine
Vinho Verde is in the North of Portugal, near the cooler Atlantic coast and the Spanish border. It’s split into 9 sub-regions. And by far the most prestigious of these is Monção e Melgaço. That’s where we discovered your Limited Edition Alvarinho 2025.
The magic happens where the fruit has been left longer to ripen, creating a deliciously rich and fruity texture.
And in case you’re wondering - yes, it’s the same grape as Albariño. Just grown in Portugal, rather than Spain.
The Winemaker
Your wine is made by Secundino Durães, who has been growing Alvarinho for over 35 years. He’s one of Portugal’s most accomplished Alvarinho producers.
In the ‘70s every member of Secundino’s family left his village in the North of Portugal. But he believed that the little-known local varietal, Alvarinho, was set to become globally popular. So he stayed put.
That bet paid off, and the rest is history.
The Design
Wrapped up in a slice of iconic Portuguese gold and whitewashed architecture, the box is a nod to Secundino’s home in the sun-drenched region of Melgaço.
The better way to buy wine
Top quality wines on tap, meaning you can enjoy a glass (or two!) without opening a whole bottle.
Plus, it's the sustainable option too, with each box producing 90% less CO2 than the same wine in glass bottles.
